Someone is Sleeping in My Head is Richard A. Parks, Jr.'s story told through his poetry in segments of "My Life"; "My Blackness"; "The World We Live In"; and "Tales From The Heart". Embedded in his essays, "That's My Word," are a variety of subjects which speak on black issues. Lastly, he allows the reader to view another creative medium, excerpts from his novel Reunion. The accounts in this book serve not only as a reminder to African Americans that a voice to be reckoned with is looming in the horizon to air those issues on which many remain silent. It also serves notice to all, to plurge themselves into "a state of unawareness" and step into the world of Richard A. Parks, Jr.
